Since our body has to deal with countless pollutants and environmental toxins almost every day, it is not surprising that it reacts to metabolic deposits. Polluted air, unhealthy food or drinks or even harmful cosmetics or alleged care products are a gradual burden on the body.

There are a variety of ways to detox with summer drinks (“detox drinks” or “infused water”). Regular detoxification ensures that you stay fit and healthy for a long time. The prerequisite is, of course, the proper functioning of the intestines, liver, kidneys and skin. Harmful substances can only be eliminated from the body if everything is working properly.

“You can easily make detox drinks and infused water yourself. They support the body’s own detoxification organs and have a positive effect on the fluid balance. They help you to drink more and you can also take vitamins with them.

Theoretically, you can make your “infused water” or “detox drink” in any container that can hold at least 0.5 – 1 liter of water. It is ideal if you can close it. The container should be made of glass or BPA-free plastic so that no harmful substances are released into the water.

Refreshing mint drink for detoxification

Take 1.5 cups of fresh mint leaves (ideally from your own garden, from an organic farmer or from the market) and rinse them thoroughly. Place the mint in a blender with half a cup of water, add a teaspoon of cumin powder and a small pinch of crystal salt and three or four teaspoons of fresh lemon juice.

All ingredients are mixed with a powerful mixer, e.g. in a blender, to a homogeneous and fiber-free paste, which can now be drunk diluted with fresh water in a ratio of 1:3. If you like it a little sweeter, add a little stevia, xylitol or yacon.

Detoxifying watermelon and cucumber smoothie

Cucumbers contain large amounts of silicon, which not only supports bone growth and strengthens connective tissue, but is also a very effective detoxifying agent. Above all, it protects against aluminum poisoning. Aluminum poisoning (from deodorants, vaccines or other sources) has been linked to the onset of neurological disorders such as autism and Alzheimer’s disease.

Watermelons are very nutritious and particularly refreshing in summer. So simply combine these two excellent foods in an extremely tasty smoothie and refresh yourself in a healthy way.

Summer detox

Place a sliced or diced cucumber in a blender with three quarters of the watermelon. After blending, leave the smoothie to cool in the fridge or serve it with ice cubes. You don’t have to peel organically grown cucumbers, whereas you should remove the skin from “normal” cucumbers before blending.

Detoxifying lemonade

For generations, cold lemonade has been THE drink for hot summers. However, in addition to sugar and artificial sweeteners, conventional lemonade contains many other harmful additives that are best avoided. If you still want to refresh yourself with a lemonade, it’s best to make it yourself – using fresh lemon juice and water. This refreshing lemon water helps detoxify the liver and stimulates digestion.

Stevia, a little xylitol or yacon are used instead of the conventional sugar or sweetener in lemonade.

Care should also be taken to use organically grown lemons or limes. It is recommended to add the juice of half a lemon or lime to a large glass of water.

Cold ginger drink for refreshment and detoxification

A chilled ginger drink is also ideal for refreshing on hot summer days and also counteracts internal inflammation. It also helps with detoxification and improves digestion. To prepare a ginger tea, ginger from non-organic harvesting should be peeled. Organic ginger, on the other hand, can be used with the peel, especially because particularly valuable antioxidants are hidden in the ginger peel. Cut the ginger into very thin slices and boil it in a little water over a low heat for 20 to 30 minutes.

Then cover the pan and leave the ginger extract to infuse for a few minutes before straining and adding yacon, xylitol or stevia and fresh lemon or lime juice. You can leave the tea to cool or add a few ice cubes – and you have a stimulating, detoxifying refreshing drink.

However, ginger can also be processed unheated. This is also much quicker: simply blend a piece of ginger the size of a thumbnail in a powerful blender with approx. 0.5 liters of water for a few seconds and then proceed as described above for ginger tea: Strain, sweeten, refine with lemon juice, chill and serve!

Detox ready-made smoothie

If you don’t have time to prepare your daily detox smoothie, try a ready-made smoothie. But one that tastes homemade. It consists of high-quality ingredients, no cheap fillers, no synthetic flavors, etc. and can be prepared in no time at all. Simply add the ready-made detox smoothie powder to 200 to 250 ml of water and blend the mixture for a few seconds – and your detox smoothie is ready.

The ready-made detox smoothie covers almost the entire spectrum of highly effective and detoxifying ingredients. In addition to nettles, birch leaves, spirulina, barley grass, ginger, mint, basil and psyllium husks, it can also contain the master detoxifier chlorella. Nevertheless, the detox smoothie tastes wonderfully fruity with its fruit content of pineapple, banana, apple and orange.


Tip:
In summer, refine the drinks with ice cubes.
