Get off to a good start with a glass of water in the morning

Everyone has their own habits. There are big differences, especially in the morning. While some people jump out of bed before the alarm clock rings, others only struggle out of bed after repeated attempts to wake up. Whether you’re an early bird or a late riser, there’s one habit you might want to get into: Drinking a glass of water every day after getting up – no matter what time it is. Because a glass of water in the morning can get you off to the perfect start.

A drinking break of six to nine hours a day is extremely rare, indeed almost unimaginable for most people. And that’s a good thing. But at night, when the body is in a state of sleep for six, seven, eight or nine hours, you don’t drink. Does the very idea of not drinking for so long make you a little thirsty? Although most people think that they do not exert themselves during sleep and therefore do not lose water, this idea is not correct. Additional fluid loss occurs during sleep due to conscious or unconscious sweating. Especially in the warmer months of the year – or in the cold winter months with the heating on – it is easy to become slightly dehydrated in the morning.

Start with water to be fit for the day

Although most people drink something in the morning, a small coffee, cappuccino, tea or hot chocolate before work is usually not enough to get the day off to a really good start. If you want to give your body a real
for your health and vitality
treat your body to a glass of water first thing in the morning. Of course, you can still drink your morning coffee. As bodily functions cannot work smoothly without sufficient fluid intake, it is particularly important to replenish fluid reserves in the morning. A lack of water can also manifest itself in the form of tiredness. However, headaches or digestive problems in particular usually indicate a lack of fluids relatively quickly. So why not take precautions with water in the morning?

Optimize many bodily functions with water

A glass of water in the morning gets the body going. If you even drink a large glass of around 500 ml of water in the morning, you can experience amazing things. Of course, you can drink the water bit by bit in the morning. Half a liter of water can increase your metabolism by up to 30% over the next 1 ½ hours. You can also say goodbye to tiredness if you drink water regularly throughout the day. If you start first thing in the morning, you’ll be much fitter for the journey to work. Everyday working life demands a lot of concentration from most people anyway.

The human brain consists mainly of fluids. If it is supplied with sufficient water, it can work better. This benefits your concentration throughout the day. Headaches quickly creep in, especially at work, if you haven’t had enough to drink. Adequate fluid intake also improves digestion. Without enough water, blockages can quickly occur. A lot of fluid is also required for the disposal of all breakdown products in the body. A glass of water in the morning therefore helps to quickly eliminate toxins via the kidneys and prevent kidney stones. Water also ensures that your skin remains firm and elastic. So if you want to prevent wrinkles in good time, drink enough water as a beauty elixir. Perhaps this is an additional motivation to reach for a glass of water in the morning?

The plus in the cold season:

With sufficient water, viruses and bacteria have less chance. If the lymph – a very important part of the human immune system – receives a lot of fluid, it is easier to fight offcolds, for example. It is therefore best to take precautions with water first thing in the morning!
