Water is the best thirst quencher of all. It is clear, calorie-free and optimal for the body to utilize. If you want to do something for your health, you should drink an average of 1.5 to 2 liters of tap or mineral water a day. But drinking water can also have completely different facets than the usual look or taste. With some unusual types of water, however, the question arises as to whether they really increase vitality.

Pure water from the other side of the globe

In fact, water from Fiji is available in PET bottles in this country. The so-called “Fiji Water” comes from a spring below the island of Viti Levu in the South Pacific. The area stands for untouched nature. This water is therefore said to be particularly pure and healthy. Its taste should also reflect this purity. Unfortunately, the US water bottling company is damaging nature there. In addition, the island’s own water reserves are being withdrawn. The water may offer consumers a special taste experience, but it is questionable whether the health aspect of pure water and the long-term ecological consequences have any ethical justification. Especially as the water is transported around 16,000 km to Germany in PET bottles.

Trend product vitamin water

In recent years, the brightly colored water bottles have also found their place in the German consumer world. Artificial vitamins are added to water. This is an interesting idea if you don’t have time to take vitamins from fresh food when traveling or during the stress of everyday life. However, to make the product more appealing to the senses, colorants are added for visual appeal and flavorings, sugar or sweeteners for taste. Here, the health aspect is massively diminished by unhealthy additives. So a “vitaminwater” is basically nothing more than a colorful soft drink with all kinds of additives. It is therefore questionable whether the product is not more of a benefit to manufacturer marketing than to the consumer.

Designer water – water with a glamorous effect

There are also water varieties that are sold in high-quality, unconventional designer bottles. The best-known product, which can also be purchased in Germany, is called “Voss”. A Norwegian glacier was propagated as the source of the spring. The bottle is more reminiscent of a cosmetic product than a drink. It exudes luxury, glamor and lifestyle. No wonder so many international stars and celebrities swear by this lifestyle water. However, it is disputed whether it is not just normal groundwater. Then it would have the same composition and taste as the drinking water that bubbles out of the pipes in the Norwegian region. After all, it is pure drinking water and therefore a good and calorie-free thirst quencher. If you don’t mind the cost and prefer the beautifully shaped bottle from a former head designer at Calvin Klein, you at least don’t have to fear any health disadvantages.

A worthwhile look at the label: When buying any type of water, it is always worth taking a look at the label. Where does the water come from? What is its mineral composition? Has something been added to it? You can then decide whether the product suits you or not.
